The Good News

The Gospel or the Good News is very important to you; it is the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ as said in Luke 4:18-19.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He has anointed me to preach Good News to the poor; He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of the sight for the blind, to released the oppresses, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

This is what the angel proclaimed when Christ the Lord was born through the woman and He was called JESUS, in Luke 2:10-11.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life”.

-John 3:16 “And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy. Which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour , which is Christ the Lord.”

Why should Christ, the Lord be born again?

This is what the Bible declares in John 3:16.

This is the very message of the Good News, the Bible declares not only there is God who is all powerful. This is God who is almighty loves you and He does not want you to perish, but that you may have eternal life.

In the Gospel, the God who made the Heaven and the Earth loved so much the sinners who because of their sins will perish. Therefore, the Good News speaks of the great love of God for you.

What does it mean that “….God gave His one and only Son?”

The word “gave” does not only mean that God is giving you a gift but He made a sacrifice as an offering to suffering, His death to pay for your sins; so that you may have an offering for your sins to receive forgiveness and be accepted by Him. Your offering for sin is the body of Christ in the person of Jesus (Hebrews 10:15)

. God will never accept religious offering which has done by priest. The only offering for sin is our Lord Jesus Christ.

Any offering will not be enough for our sins. The wealth of this world, the wisdom anf the knowledge herein and the power therein without the shedding of the blood will not assure forgiveness for sins (Hebrews 9:22-24).

“For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with the hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.” –(vs.24).

It is Christ who offered His blood for our redemption. Thus, the Good News is the greatest giving of an offering for our sins and the greatest offering is His one and only Son who came in flesh to offer Himself for us sinners: that is the meaning of “giving”

Hebrews 9:24

He was given because of our transgressions.

What more is the Good News?

That Christ was risen; and because He was risen, He destroyed the power of Satan, our enemy (Hebrews 2:14-15).

“Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in the humanity so that in his death he might him who holds the power of death that is the devil; and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.”

In Jesus Christ, there is victory over our enemy; it is not only having forgiveness from your sins, but more than that, He destroyed the power of your enemy, this subtle deceiver whom you know not. But Christ is risen because He is begotten Son of God and triumphed over the power of Satan.

What must you do to be saved from your sins and be delivered from the power of Satan?

Jesus Christ said you should believe in the love of God which is the Good News! God loves you and Jesus Christ is the greatest gift that you may be redeemed from your sins and curse, and destroys your enemy through His resurrection.

The word “believe” is not to trust, but to accept Him. The promise in John 3:36, you will have eternal life as you coupled it with obedience in His word. The Bible declares, that the first believers believed that the Good News was Christ, the Son of God and because of their sins, Jesus Christ died, oppressed and afflicted. And they repented and were baptized for the forgiveness of their sins (Acts 2:38).
